Mobile operators are switching to per-second billing in Kazakhstan, the country’s Ministry of Communications and IT of the Republic of Kazakhstan says. This is a move from per-10 sec billing, which is currently in place. This move is in line with an order from the Anti Monopoly Committee of Kazakhstan in late 2010 to reduce interconnect fees and to switch to per-second billing. The mobile operators have already commenced changing their tariff plans in line with the new per-second billing format.
