Turkish company Turk Telekom, which owns mobile operator Avea, increased its profits by 18.3% in 2010, reaching TRY3.31 billion (US$2.1 billion). Revenues also increased by 2.7% year-on-year to nearly TRY11 billion, with EBITDA up 11% to just under TRY5 billion. On the mobile side, EBITDA increased five-fold year-on-year to TRY332 million, bringing the margin to 13% for the year. Avea ended the year with 11.6 million customers, a yearly decrease of 1.8%, but the postpaid increased by 5pp to 40.5% of the customer base. ARPU also increased by 7.8% to TRY19.2, with MOU up 4.1% to 268.5.
