This white paper explores the business case for mobile operators to partner with Over The Top (OTT) players. It quantifies the size of the OTT partner collaboration opportunity, based on the findings of an independent research study by telecoms consultancy firm, Northstream.The model looks at the potential gross profits that could be achieved through operators' existing partnership arrangements with OTTs, commonly characterized by manual integration of both parties' systems, as compared with the predicted outcomes enabled by a partner collaboration platform.Northstream's research concluded that Western European operators stand to generate gross profits of €2.2 billion over the next three years from their OTT partnerships, if they implement an OTT Collaboration Platform. This contrasts with expectations of only €160 million in gross profits from OTT partnerships from the one-time integration/ non-platform approach.
