Dissertation: Interference Cancellation in CDMA Systems
Whereby concentrating and discussing the design constraints of a cellular system as well as mentioning how Spread Spectrum technology addresses them to overcome the drawbacks of GSM network by implementing the principles of a Code Division Multiple Access technique in a 3G network. While discussing the above, I highlighted on the attributes and drawbacks of cellular CDMA system by further selecting Interference and it’s mitigation as the prime subject. Reason for the selection of the topic was because - CDMA being distinctive in the sense that they are interference limited as disparate to other multiple access schemes such as frequency division multiple access (FDMA) and time division multiple access (TDMA) which are bandwidth constrained. The most interesting part of the discussion was to learn about the concept of Adaptive Interference Cancellation. While studying Adaptive Interference Cancellation, I worked on the Basic LMS algorithm and Recursive Least Square algorithm.
