MASON RAMSEY – BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Born into a military family, Mason Ramsey grew up living in Asia, The Western, Midwest and Southern United States and graduating high school in Anchorage, Alaska in 1974.
After graduation, the family drove down the Alkan Highway and across the United States, re-settling in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, where Mason, in 1956 was born at a military hospital, called, Eglin, AFB.
While attending college, Mason began working in the broadcasting industry, becoming an evening radio personality for a local country radio station, WFSH.
Mason’s career evolved into radio and TV production as a writer, producer and talent in voice over and on-camera work, while developing a sales persona as a business entrepreneur and promoter.
Two daughters, Shanna and Sharon were born in Florida and Louisiana as he worked developing his skills, working for radio stations and advertising firms in the capacity as an on-air talent, program director, production director and free-lance voice talent.
In 1983 Mason accepted a position in his first Major Market City as the evening radio personality at 94FM KLCY in Salt Lake City where he dominated and maintained some of the highest audience ratings for three years. It was during his first year in Utah, that his only son, Shaylan was born at the University of Utah.
After leaving Utah in 1986, Mason briefly worked in the Orlando market at WBJW-BJ105FM before advertising and business interest developed in the Pacific Micronesian Islands.
While living in Guam, Mason not only worked as an on-air talent for Hit Radio 100 and KUAM, he also worked as a Television host and produced numerous commercials, acting as a writer, talent, producer, director, photographer. As a certified scuba diver, other business interest included contracts with five local dive companies, photographing clients above and underwater. Mason’s outgoing persona developed a natural sales ability in representing numerous affiliations with local businesses, including Winchell’s Donuts, The Greyhound Kennel Club, Budweiser and other business developing advertising and promotional campaigns, including representing the South Pacific’s largest shopping mall, Micronesia Mall, where he still does commercial voice-overs to this day.
Returning to the United States in 1989 – Mason Eventually settled in Tampa, Florida where he free lanced commercial voice-overs and worked as a news assignment editor for a television station WTVT-Channel 13 in the fox network.
