British Army to present exclusive session at SMi’s Network Centric Warfare conference which will take place on 1-2 February 2018 in Rome, Italy.

As recently published by the UK MoD, one of the nine challenges identified and agreed by the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the Joint Concept Note Future Force Concept is a focus on delivering agile command and control. This is critical to enhancing joint operational capability and is also seen as a fundamental requirement to develop the joint future forces vision.

Thus, SMi is proud to announce that Lieutenant Colonel Jim Hill will be speaking at Network Centric Warfare 2018, with a presentation entitled "The Future of Command and Control - How Defence Should Best Develop and Sustain an Enduring and Agile C2 Capability". His presentation will aim to answer questions such as

  • How and why current C2 is being questioned and challenged?
  • How has C2 capability evolved and why is there a need for agility?
  • How do we achieve agile C2?

Related presentations will include:

  • Developing the Next Generation of Tactical Communication Systems to Strengthen UK Capability
BRIGADIER RICHARD SPENCER, Deputy Head Battlefield Tactical CIS Delivery Team, UK MoD
  • Developing Agile Network Solutions by Reducing Operating Burden
MR JON SPENCER, Principal Engineer, DSTL

They join a line-up of experts shaping up this vital area of defence. Other featured speakers include representatives from the Italian Air Force, Italian Army, DISA Europe, DSTL, US Army Europe, NATO Shape, NATO Defence College Foundation and more.

Network Centric Warfare 2018 will provide a platform to address challenges and issues surrounding the demand for modernisation and digitisation of information, the growing need for interoperability within communication systems, and procurement for technological advancements of military assets.

The full agenda as well as registration information can be found on www.netcentric-warfare.com/telco.
