Cloud Cap Technology TASE400 Gimbals Bring Long Range ISR to the Tactical Level

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Aug. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- UTC Aerospace Systems offers two Cloud Cap Technology TASE400 camera system configurations that put the performance of much larger and heavier gimbals in a compact 7 inch, 8 lb. TASE400 package. The TASE400DXR (Daylight Extended Range) and the TASE400LRS (Long Range Spotter) bring high resolution long range HD daylight imagery capabilities, long relegated to larger aircraft and UAV's, to tactical size UAV's and small manned aircraft. The TASE400DXR offers .35 degree FOV (Field of View) or NIIRS 9 (National Image Interpretability Rating) with a high definition camera and large catadioptric lens giving it the daylight equivalent of 15 inch gimbals that can weigh 100 lbs. or more.  Similarly the TASE400LRS offers both day and night imagery and with the addition of the Long Range Spotter camera can provide high definition daylight imagery down to a 1.1 degree FOV or NIIRS 7.5 giving the TASE400LRS almost the same capability in day and night as a much larger and heavier 10 inch gimbal.
