MYCOM NIMS-PrOptima™ beats competition to deliver end-to-end performance management across Radio, Transmission, Core and VAS networks

UNITEL is the leading mobile network operator in Angola with 7 million subscribers and MYCOM’s NIMS-PrOptima™ solution will be used to provide network performance management end-to-end across its Mobile network. The system will cater for more than 1,500 multi-technology cell sites (GSM, UMTS and LTE RAN), CS/PS Core network and WDM/SDH/PDH Transmission network elements. It will also manage UNITEL’s IP network and Value Added Services (VAS) platforms.
The project was initiated after the incumbent network performance management solution was unable to consistently meet UNITEL’s functional and service requirements on the live network. MYCOM was selected after a comprehensive evaluation that included several market leading performance management competitors. Some of the reasons why MYCOM won the evaluation were that NIMS-PrOptima™ provided: a unified solution spanning multiple domains; ready-made network equipment interfaces, KPIs and reports; flexible ad hoc analysis with drag and drop User Interface, and a rapid deployment capability.
