Is anyone aware of how sucessful the micro-payemnt portals in EMEA region are ?
Mirco-payement portals are considered part of the VAS platforms , it allows internet buyers to get an authorization code to buy an item through internet for 1-100 $ for example without having a working internet credit card , they send SMS or make MOC call and the IN deducts the value ( for prepaid it will take it from the account balance , for postpaid it will be in the tab files and thus in the bill of the subscriber at the end of the month )
Such services are booming in parts of europe , and the hosts / operator faclitating this are making a big revenue , there is more and more demand on this , as everyone is becoming more cautious regarding using credit cards online , rather than in areas like Middle east , a large majority of students do not have credit cards and they need to buy books from Amazon for example , they have a mobile phone for sure ...
Anyone has an idea about feasibility of such products / services in the EMEA market ?
