Perhaps a comment on the difficulty of getting multiple partners singing from the same hymn sheet. The Japanese telco says it is ditching a planned LTE chip joint venture with Fujitsu, Fujitsu Semiconductor, NEC, Panasonic Mobile Communications and Samsung Electronics because they couldn't agree a way forward by an end-March deadline.
Contrast that with plans by Samsung to invest $7 billion in a smartphone chip plant in China. One firm - progress being made.
