The telco is trialling a so-called 'smart booth' featuring a touch screen offering tourist information, social media and other services via a touchscreen. The booth also features Wi-Fi, is powered by solar panels, incorporates CCTV linked to the police - and charging points for electric vehicles.
Is this the make over that will save our traditional phone boxes, or is it just unnecessary expense? I mean, most of those services could be provided on smartphones using location-based services.
