An interesting blog from Don Sambandaraksa this morning about the peculiar case of SimSimi, a chat bot application available in Apple and Google app stores that's been dumbed down in Thailand after learning offensive language and insulting a former prime minister.
The pertinent questions are whether AI can commit slander, and who is responsible if it does? The web server hosting it, the app's developer, or even the people who taught it how to speak (ie, the end user).
Read the article then tell me what you think. http://www.telecomasia.net/blog/content/simsimi-chatbot-banned-thailand?Don%20Sambandaraksa
