Consolidation is the buzz word here. The growth in terms of number would be there but how many of them are real subscribers who would give substantial revenue to the Telco oevr a period of time is a big question mark. However the market fo value added services and Data apps is huge - even assuming that 5% of the total Mobile users are high spending individuals, you still have 30 Million subscribers who are ready to pay and use high end services.
The unique thing about Indian Telcos is that the big players were never bothered about ARPU - they concentrated on margins per customer (per segment) and volumes and hence have a different operating model compared to the Telcos in Europe.
