Co-located at TM Forum Digital Disruption, NFV allows network functions (such as voicemail, or RCS) to be deployed centrally on virtual machines at the edge, thus reducing the need to roll trucks and service all the edge equipment. It decreases speed to market for new services, facilitates updates, and promotes homogenization across the network. That means a reduction in CapEx, but especially a reduction in OpEx and downtime. This lunch discussion will collect the senior executives initiating change in this segment to discuss NFV, hear where some carriers are in the process, what the near-term goals are, and what vendors are offering.
