Dilemma number 1!

  •  Over the years the number of products and rating codes in a telco have just grown and grown. The number of combination possible to make up a commercial product exceeds the number of combinations possible to secure a winning lottery ticket.

     The business results are tangible in areas such as new product launches that takes lots of time preventing agility, drives resource demand an impediment for self sufficiency and last but not least cost a lot of money.

     With this in mind, will bundling existing products and services from many different sources i.e. billing systems be a good way forward offering the likes of quad Play, or will matters just get worse?

     The dilemma is, complex rating or products and tariff rationalisation. Without serious new take on defining products and associated pricing mechanisms, can telco stay competitive and be a serious challenger to WEBcos? Without complex rating can telcos maximise the value of existing assets in networks?
